Religious and spiritual beliefs and practices shape social life, creating representations, legitimizing lifestyles, and sustaining forms of domination and resistance. The topics we study empirically are related to a) the distribution of religions in Argentina; b) the dynamics of growth and decline in religious and spiritual traditions; c) the interplay of spiritual and religious beliefs with economic, political, and cultural dynamics; and d) beliefs and their relationship to health, bodies, and rights. Comparative analysis across diverse religious and spiritual traditions, different regional contexts, and varied social groups allows us to go beyond our individual knowledge to contribute to an understanding of the structural transformation processes within Argentine society.
